Response: A Rose for Emily

Why this response?
I decided to do original artwork for this response because this is an image that I immediately thought of as I read the story. It's a quick drawing I did at work on my break, but I think it gets the idea across.  In the story, Emily cuts herself off from the rest of society, and by doing so she turns her house, which was already a grave to her late lover, into her own grave.  I noticed a lot of themes of isolation and distorted reality, but this drawing sums up what I got out of the story.
