Response: Personal Monsters

Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey
The Beatles
Come on, come on, come on, come on,
Come on is such a joy, come on is such a joy.
Come on take it easy, come on take it easy,
Take it easy, take it easy.
Ev'rybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey.

The deeper you go, the higher you fly,
The higher you fly, the deeper you go,
So come on, come on, come on is such a joy, come on is such a joy.
Come on take it easy, come on take it easy,
Take it easy, take it easy.
Ev'rybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey.

Your inside is out, your outside is in,
Your outside is in, your inside is out,
So come on, come on, come on is such a joy, come on is such a joy.
Come on take it easy, come on take it easy,
Take it easy, take it easy.
Ev'rybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey.

Why this response?
I remember back in high school when Maddi drew those.  I connected to them personally because I have always seen my depression and mental health problems as small, hostile little beings living inside me. However, I chose to interpret these as "monkeys on their backs."  I chose this song because to me (maybe the intent is different but I like to interpret things the way I want), it describes someone with an addiction problem who thinks everyone else has a problem except him.
